For today’s edition of Special Guest Interview, we sat down with Sugar, the doggy mascot and inspiration behind Verebon.  

You look astonishingly beautiful and well-groomed today.  Did you just get a haircut? 

Sugar:  Yes, today was spa day and super relaxing.  There’s this local neighborhood grooming salon that I love going to for my bath, haircut, and nail clipping.  I always feel so refreshed after going there!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?  What breed are you and (if you don’t mind me asking) how old?

Sugar:  I’m a Lhasa Apso, a breed that originated from Tibet.  My ancestors were actually guard dogs for the Buddhist monasteries there, and alerted the monks whenever we sensed any intruders.  Lhasa Apsos are known for their calm assertiveness and long, thick coat.  You might not see it now, because I just got a haircut!  Also, I’m 13 years old. 

Wow, 13 years old!  How do you keep in such great shape?  Any health tips to share with our readers and their furry pets?

Sugar: I like to keep my diet as healthy and natural as possible.  I stick with homemade meals of lean beef and baby carrots, or chicken and brown rice (sometimes, I like to have just a sprinkle of liver powder for extra flavor).  For snacks, I always have Verebon’s All-Natural Canine Cookies.  Verebon cookies use wholesome ingredients like whole turkey meat, gluten-free brown rice flour, and real vegetables and fruits.  I know I can trust whatever goes into Verebon products. 

What’s your favorite flavor of Verebon Canine Cookies?

Sugar:  That’s a hard question. (Sugar pauses).  If I have to choose, it will have to be the Chicken and Sweet Potatoes.  I have a sweet spot for chicken liver.  It’s just so savory and barkilicious!  The Apple and Cheddar Cheese is a really close second.

Those really sound like great, delicious flavors.  Before I let you get to your afternoon nap, can you tell us the most private thing you’re willing to admit? 

Sugar: Well, my nickname in the family is Sugar Baby.  It’s what my family and the people at Verebon call me, when I get my belly rubbed.

Our connection with animals is so amazing because it has no verbal form. As we know they can’t talk, they just understand. It is unique quality, and we often don’t have this. Animals present us real emotions because they can’t lie or play the hypocrite. Sometimes we can’t even realize how important they are. Also there is an opinion that we are often very similar to our pets. To cut a long story short, pets are a real miracle and no one would doubt their influence and value.
